CPD 414 Digital Design
This Digital Design course at Old Dominion University helped the students to explore problems in real workplace setting and design a solution.
Course Name: Buddy Match, Peer Mentor Program Prototype
In CPD 414, I worked with a team to solve a real workplace problem using the design thinking process. Our group, The Onboarding Design Team, focused on how new employees often struggle because they don't have access to the unwritten rules, guidance, and support they need when starting a jo. We interviewed people, built and empathy map, wrote a problem statement, and brainstormed over 20 ideas before choosing a peer mentor program we called BuddyMatch. From there, we built a prototype, tested it with eight people, and made changes based on their feedback. This course taught me how to listen first, work as a team, and keep improving an idea until it truly meets people's needs. Those are skills I've used my whole career, and this project helped me put them into a clear process.
